nach mehrstündiger wanderung durch das schroffe hochtal des atlasgebirges werden inmitten der steinernen wüstenlandschaft unerwartet kleine geometrische kuben erkennbar, geformt aus dem geröll des ortes. manifest menschlicher eingriffe, geste der transformation von naturlandschaft in kulturlandschaft. mauern aus geschichteten steinen definieren schutzräume und grenzen zwischen drinnen und draussen, rückzugsorte gegen die unwirtlichkeit der natur. die räume werden aneinandergebaut, gassen bleiben frei, ein platz als ort der gemeinschaft wird definiert.

einem raum wird besonderer gestaltung zuteil, weiss geschlämmt an zentraler stelle des ortes dient er als kleine moschee, als spritueller ort der kleinen gemeinschaft.

after a long hike through the rugged high valley of the atlas mountains, unexpectedly – amid the stony desert landscape – small geometrical cubes appear, created from the geological debris of the site. manifestations of human intervention, gestures of the transformation from a natural to a cultural landscape: walls made of stratified stones define protected areas and boundaries between inside and out, places of retreat from the inhospitable landscape. the spaces are clustered together while the streets remain open; a space of community is defined.

one structure has an exceptional design: whitewashed and situated in a central location of the site, it serves as a small mosque, as a spiritual place for the small community.
